- January 1, 1932 – The United States Post Office Department issues a set of 12 stamps commemorating the 200th anniversary of George Washington’s birth.
- January 28, 1932 – Japanese forces attack Shanghai.
- February 4, 1932 – Second Sino-Japanese War: Harbin, Manchuria, falls to Japan.
- February 17, 1932 – New Year’s Day in Chinese calendar. Start of the year of the Water Monkey in Chinese astrology.
- April 23, 1932 – The 153-year old De Adriaan Windmill in Haarlem, Netherlands burns down. It is rebuilt and reopens exactly 70 years later.
- May 4, 1932 – In Atlanta, Georgia, mobster Al Capone begins serving an eleven-year prison sentence for tax evasion.
- May 12, 1932 – Ten weeks after his abduction Charles Jr., the infant son of Charles Lindbergh is found dead in Hopewell, New Jersey, just a few miles from the Lindberghs’ home.
- May 21, 1932 – Bad weather forces Amelia Earhart to land in a pasture in Derry, Northern Ireland, and she thereby becomes the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
- June 17, 1932 – Bonus Army: around a thousand World War I veterans amass at the United States Capitol as the U.S. Senate considers a bill that would give them certain benefits.
- July 12, 1932 – Hedley Verity takes a cricket world record 10 wickets for 10 runs in a county match for Yorkshire
- July 28, 1932 – U.S. President Herbert Hoover orders the United States Army to forcibly evict the “Bonus Army” of World War I veterans gathered in Washington, D.C.
- July 30, 1932 – Premiere of Walt Disney’s Flowers and Trees, the first cartoon short to use Technicolor and the first Academy Award winning cartoon short.
- July 31, 1932 – The NSDAP (Nazi Party) wins more than 38% of the vote in German elections.
- August 10, 1932 – A 5.1 kg chondrite-type meteorite breaks into at least seven pieces and lands near the town of Archie in Cass County, Missouri.
